Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you all to join the 6th South Eastern European Meeting which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on 1 and 2 October 2010.
The objective of this meeting is to share current information, convey recent research results to colleagues and create an enjoyable social atmosphere for the participants.
Istanbul is one of the most appropriate cities to organise this meeting since it was appointed European Cultural Capital City in 2010. Turkey shares its historical and cultural background with many South-Eastern European countries. I am convinced that the city of Istanbul is able to form a cultural bridge between the East and the West; this gives this magnificent city the chance to become an educational and scientific centre in the field of urology.
Therefore the organising committee wishes to thank Prof. Per-Anders Abrahamsson, Secretary General of the EAU, and Prof. Michael Marberger, Chairman of the EAU Regional Office, for the opportunity to organise this meeting in Istanbul. Prof. Marberger supports us by saying that the SEEM is an “ideal forum for urologists in the region to meet colleagues with similar interests and to develop urological networks within the region”, a remark which we fully underline.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Istanbul to share your experience, meet with colleagues and make new friends.
Kind regards,
Professor Dr. Ates Kadioglu
Chairman, EAU 6th South Eastern European Meeting
